Already Home

Wilshire Music

Already Home is the new EP from husband and wife pop-rock duo Lori and Micah Wilshire. Entirely self-written, self-produced and almost entirely self-performed, Already Home is the band’s best work to date, surpassing even its big budget, major label predecessor, New Universe – and that was some album.

It’s all down to some inspired songwriting and the duo’s undeniable vocal and musical chemistry. Soaked in poignant nostalgia and effortlessly melodic, the title track is a hit waiting to happen, as it veers from a delicate acoustic intro into a breathtaking uptempo rocker. “Do You Remember?” is another A-grade tune on the theme of lost love. The superb “Whichever Way The Wind Blows” captures the spirit that has defined Wilshire since their career began. “Here and Now” is an instantly classic pop-rock song, with its simple melody and powerful vocals. Acoustic efforts “How Long Lonely” and “Something Good” slow down the pace but don’t reduce the quality by any means. And the epic and soulful “Memories of You” closes the EP out in memorable style.

Wilshire may be back out on their own, but Already Home emphatically proves that however the music is released, all that matters is the music itself. And pop music – independent or otherwise – just doesn’t get much better than this.
