A Trip Through Life

PJW

These guys sound like classic Hard Working Musicians. With a thick, layered sound, they clearly think about chord progressions and melodic lines and all that music theory stuff, and then carefully set it aside to make the sort of rock and roll college stations love to play late at night. It’s not really uber weirdness, but a solid wall of noise that makes a nice bed for complicated lyrics. There’s no “oh, baby, baby, baby” stuff here, but high concepts stuff ABOUT the “oh baby, baby, baby” stuff. Pay close attention, the words are worth deciphering – sure you can read them in the nearly unreadable liner notes, but what fun is that? Get an ice cold Bud and peel the label off while you consider what was written for your entertainment.
