Liberty Girl

by Robert Black

Royal Fireworks Press

Liberty Gir tells the story of a young girl named Eleanor, who struggles to adapt to her new home in Baltimore during World War One. Throughout the book, Eleanor faces the troubles of Junior High and the drastically different environment from her life back in Indiana.

Robert Black’s writing flows nicely, creating an easygoing and fast read. I found myself empathizing with the characters. It was difficult to visualize the book, though, especially with characters, because of its lack of descriptive details. Many of the events were predictable and unsurprising, but were nonetheless enjoyable
