Dave Pahanish

Nashvillian

Fresh from moving to Nashville and securing a publishing deal with Three River Music/BMI, songwriting stalwart Dave Pahanish has put together the aptly-titled Nashvillian, a new collection of tunes which combine his understated songwriting style with upbeat country rock leanings.

It’s an intriguing mix: kicking off with the infectious ‘na na nas’ of “Gotta Give It Away,” it’s clear this is a more upbeat Pahanish than his previous studio record Shine. The soulful “Right Back At You” continues on a similar theme, while “Something About You” is a country crossover hit waiting to happen.

Piano ballad “I Will” and the laid-back “The Deeper We Fall” deliver a neat contrast to the high energy pop-rock of “Without Your Love” and “Knew You When” and prove Pahanish’s versatility as a songwriter.

The songs on Nashvillian hint at promising things to come from Pahanish’s alliance with Three River Music/BMI and if things go to plan, hopefully he won’t be criminally ignored as an artist for too much longer.
