Richard D. James’ Come To Daddy is a study of demonic possession, of the genius gone mad. “Come To Daddy (Pappy Mix)” introduces Lucifer to those who aren’t already familiar with him. He wants your soul. He will even eat it. Aargh! Next is “Flim,” the innocent lamb before the slaughter mix. This eerie little instrumental is just too cute to ignore. Damian, Lucifer’s son, gets his own song to sing and he does so with a perfectly demented delivery in the Little Lord Fauntleroy mix. “Bouncing Ball” will drive you mad, break you down so as to make you obey him. At this point, James’ obsession of controlling his audience is quite clear. Get into their tiny little heads and fuck with their tiny little minds. “To Cure a Weakling Child” and “Funny Man” are odd pieces of psychotic bliss. You have so many machines, Richard.
