Snakedressed

C.O.P. International

I’ve always liked the combination of rap and industrial, ever since hearing Operation Beatbox put out by Cargo/Reconstriction and anything by SMP. So when I started listening to Snakedressed, I pitched a tent. But somewhere hidden in mix I can also hear a demented Jan Hammer and Herbie Hancock battling it out with heavy machinery, guns, knives, and nuclear weapons. Kind of a weird play on words and sounds. Dive combines the power of sampled guitars, syncopated drums, and synths into a quality release. Though I’m hesitant to recommend this album to a certain “crowd,” I know there are others like myself that enjoy this combination, even if they aren’t as excited. C.O.P.
