Somnabulance

Metropolis

Somnabulance starts off in a slow grinding pace, building tension as the notes spill out of the speakers, like waiting for the coming apocalypse. The closest I can come to describing the musical style is an electronic version of Godflesh on Quaaludes. Gothic and electro influences spill across the tracks while skeletons pound out rhythms from inside little machines. I only wish I was given this release two or three years ago when I was in a feverish attempt to possess everything industrial. At that point, Somnabulance would have been the cream of the crop. Today it contains the elements and passions that stimulate me, but the energy to carry through in forcing DJs to play it (so I can dance my heart out) just does not exist. I enjoy it thoroughly, but want to keep it as a guilty love instead of sharing. Metropolis Records, P.O. Box 54307, Philadelphia, PA 19105; http://www.metropolis-records.com
