Cash Money

Halos of Smoke and Fire

Touch and Go

The guitar-and-drums aesthetic of this band will remind many of the Boosexposion, but to my ears, Cash Money have more to do with the Flat Duo Jets than with the Spencertron 2000. Granted, Cash Money’s music sounds like the wrong side of the tracks, but here the swagger has a smirk and not a sneer. Scott Giampino’s precision pounding anchors John Humphrey’s melodically pyrotechnic guitar, while a series of guests drop in to add harmonica, organ, lap steel… raw and primal, nice and chunky.
