Chumpire

Another peek into the Pennsylvania underground courtesy of Chumpire. This time it’s a CD comp and there’s a lot more time available, so 31 tracks are squeezed on here for a total length of around 60 minutes. The styles range from non-metal hardcore to various forms of non-radio friendly punk, with much success. Most of these bands I had never heard of, and a lot of them are great, favorites being Buttercup, Pseudo Heroes, The Caddies, Not Your Friends, Pressgang, Bobbykork, Kisses and Hugs, Chase Squad, and Ding. There seems to be a lot of variety and vitality in this scene. The packaging is jewel case free, with a big booklet and lots of stuff to read and look at. Nice job. $5 postpaid Chumpire, P.O. Box 680, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316-0680
