Pigeonhed’s Flashbulb Emergency Overflow Cavalcade of Remixes

Sub Pop

There’s only one thing worse than a band that churns out material without little regard for quality, and that’s a band that churns out material so consistently good that it requires completeness. Pigeonhed is one of the latter, and this offering of remixes (the third?) of songs from The Full Sentence. The mix of Steve Fisk’s lunatic production and Shawn Smith’s angelic voice lends itself well to remixing, and the particular distortions of Pigeonhed’s twisted soul that are presented here range from the sparse and eerie to the lurching and rhythmic. A worthy addition to any library containing Pigeonhed, and about as good a place to start appreciating this band as any other I can think of.
