Hellbender

Con Limon

Reservoir

This is a band I can totally sink my teeth into. Gritty, melodic, and warm in a way both familiar and fresh. The songs are solid and rock nicely. Amazingly well-written personal lyrics and great vocals to boot. This was an instant favorite as soon as I heard it – memorable all the way through. I wish I had paid more attention to their interview in Muddle a while back.

I haven’t quite been able to put my finger on exactly what this sounds like. Describing music can be unfairly difficult sometimes, especially if you really like something. I hear Hellbender almost as an eighth cousin twice removed from Jawbreaker and Clairmel, but not really. Still, it falls in that high-caliber post-punk area. You’ll love it. Highly recommended.
