Funkdoobiest

The Troubleshooters

RCA

Los Angeleans Funkdoobiest love their buds and brew. So much in fact that the opening track is called “Doobie Show.” While they might have a rough go of trying to live up to being the poor man’s Cypress Hill, I wouldn’t count them out either. Packed with 20 songs depicting streetlife in the barrio, Troubleshooters sees the Doobiest on their way to their forty ounces of freedom and then some. With a video on MTV and a cover of Tom Tom Club’s “Natural Fun,” it’s an album to get the party started. Although they may not yet be a household standard the boys know how to kick the flavor. I’d sure like to hear the remixes.
