Victoria Williams

Musings of a Creek Dipper

Atlantic

I always hate to review Victoria Williams, I am always torn as to what to say about her. I have the same feelings toward James Joyce. I respect the work, I feel it is very valid and fairly important, but I can’t quite say I like it. Oh, there are things I like in it, but there are many people I’d rather listen to, but I can’t not listen. Actually I found Musings of a Creek Dipper more inviting than some of her previous work. I really admire her for not short-cutting what she wants to say and how she wants to say it just to make it easier for a dolt like me to get it. And that makes her music all the more intriguing to me.
