Sacred Steel

Reborn in Steel

Metal Blade

Garbed in studded leather armor and singing songs with excellent metal titles, like “Metal Reigns Supreme,” “Battle Angel,” and “True Force of Iron Glory,” Germany’s Sacred Steel rush into battle full-on and axes ready to drink blood! This is no-nonsense, 100% heavy metal, forged with one purpose in mind: to hail the glory days of the early 1980’s when metal bands ruled the stadiums around the world…

And what great names for songs! How can I not love this band?!

What I really love about Sacred Steel is that they really are a Manowar and Judas Priest tribute band wrapped in one! I mean, the Manowar “battle” schtick is in all the songs, including samples of actual (?) clashes of Saxon warriors and, well, who else writes songs like “Reborn in Steel” or “Sword of the King?” Vocalist Gerrit P. Mutz reaches the highs and higher like Rob Halford and the dueling guitars sound just like Glenn and K.K. Racing each other to see who finishes the song first. Sacred Steel play that great, classic, ripping metal that still lives and I highly praise this great release as inspiration to all warriors of true metal! I recommend Reborn in Steel to everyone who knows the meaning of the words “Hail and Kill!” Metal Blade Records, 2828 Cochran St., Suite 302, Simi Valley, CA 93065-2793; http://www.iuma.com/Metal\_Blade
