Dub Narcotic

Selector

K

A collection of 23 previously unreleased tracks, most of which hit their target. Sounding like a series of recorded jams – were people crashing at Dub Narcotic’s Calvin Johnson’s house? – all of the tracks on here are collaborations with other artists, ranging from the well-known (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Beck, the Make Up) to the obscure. If this album proves anything, it’s that sparse and roomy as it is, the Dub Narcotic framework has plenty of room for an outside style. Even the flops on here are admirable as well-intentioned experiments. Dub on… K Records, P.O.Box 7154, Olympia, WA 98507
