OM

San Francisco’s eighty mile beach serve up a blend of mid-tempo beats and vocals in a vaguely familiar manner. The hip hop-inspired music and breathy female singing could bring to mind Portishead (without the noir-melancholy aspect), but perhaps in formula only. eighty mile beach’s beats aren’t quite funky enough to cause involuntary head-bobbing, and the tunes aren’t quite melodic enough to hum in the grocery store, but inclement weather makes for pleasant listening that certainly won’t offend.
