Indigo Girls

Shed Your Skin Remix 12”

Epic Dance

What an unlikely foray into the realm of dance by this Atlanta duo, who rose to fame for their work with acoustic instruments. On this format we’ve got a pair of mixes by Stephen Nikolas and Auto Dependency Syndrome. I really shouldn’t be as surprised at how usable these tracks are but I suppose if Chris Fortier could remix Paula Cole then the Indigo Girls wouldn’t be far off either. The “Ascension Mix” logged in at 125 bpms, a mild trance line with the vocals looping nicely to add that spatial effect that makes the dancefloor a happier place. The “ADS Skinless” mix sports the ever popular electro, analogue and breakbeat formula that also works well with the younger set. Commercial but interesting.
