The Most Secret Method

Get Lovely

Slowdime

This record has totally been scratching an itch for me over the past week or so. It’s another post-hardcore/punk gem recorded by the man who has become most responsible for how our records sound these days, J Robbins. The Most Secret Method has made a tough pop record. There’s plenty of abrasive guitar textures to complement the catchy pop songwriting. I like this a lot. This doesn’t stray too far from the standard DC formula, while taking a tip or two from the folks out in the Mid-West as well. Fans of Jawbox and Kerosene 454 and even Braid and The Promise Ring should be very happy with this stuff. I’m not sure which I like better, the well-played rock or drummer Ryan Nelson’s crisp black and white comic style album art. Slowdime keeps churning out the hits. Slowdime Records, P.O.
