Big D & the Kids Table

Big D & the Kids Table

Fork in Hand

Here’s a live 5-track EP from Boston’s 10-piece ska-punk-hip hop maniacs. Big D & the Kids Table are a high energy combo that are a lot of fun to watch live, and this CD does a good job of capturing their unique spirit. The EP starts strong with the horn-laden “Fatman,” then takes a curve towards hardcore with the slamworthy “Draw The Line.” The bratty ska-punk of “Hey” is a lot of fun, but my favorite track is the peppy shout-along “Tommy,” with its infernally-catchy horn line and lots of “Oi!’s” from the crowd. The EP is closer out by the non-live demo “51 Gardner,” a solid ska-punk number with a big horn sound. If it’s the sound of things to come, I’ll be looking forward to Big D’s next release! Hey, this EP is only $6, so it’s worth taking a chance. If you like ska punk, the wager is going to pay off. Fork in Hand Records, 150 Mass Ave., Boston, MA Fork in Hand Records
