Alrighty, kids. What has Dr. West taught you over the past couple of months? Yes, yes. That’s it! Mutant Sound Systems does not release anything that is bad. Here are two more releases (both double CDs as well!) that are amazing. London Acid City is acid house, plain and simple. This is where it all started from, kids. London got this whole “rave” culture bouncing, and now it’s time to put your money on the table and buy an album that best represents all the head-trippin’ yumminess that comes from acid-house. Both CDs are a continuous mix, so you don’t even have to worry about that uncomfortable silence between songs. Your body is going to shake, rattle, and roll around the house getting ready to head out to the clubs, but unfortunately after using this as your warm-up music you are going to be very disappointed by what the house DJ decides to spin. World Dance is drum-n-bass at a new level. A few months ago I reviewed Renegade Continuum, another label’s double CD of drum-n-bass, and suggested you buy it immediately. Unfortunately for those who followed my advice, Mutant Sound Systems has topped it with World Dance. It’s good news for us, though. We get to see labels battle it out for the best all-round compilations of continuous mixing. I’m going to crawl into a hole in the ground if someone can top this release. I won’t be able to function, survive, or do anything but put on headphones, and play the CD on repeat. Now, has Dr. West given you bad advice before on Mutant Sound System releases?
