Shadow

Subtitled “Recordings Of Substance,” Kamikaze stretches the boundaries of jazzy D&B. On Kamikaze, Ollie Brown and Sam Britton, aka Icarus, are found venturing into beat-driven abstract soundscapes. “Moon Palace” drops an avant trip hop beat with a melody that does its best at exploring the dark side of sub bass and lower frequency rhythms. On the latter portion of the album, “Return 2,” “Skit,” and “Baggage Claim” go deep into the jungle. “Skit” does the haunted house jungle theme, while “Baggage Claim” goes the jump up and hard step routine.
