Jag Panzer

The Age of Mastery

Century Media

All these years, my friends and family told me that I should clean out my attic and get rid of all those spandex, spiked bracelets, and hair spray, but I held the faith and didn’t listen to them. I knew a day like this would come, when once again, I could don my old Eighties gear and become “ONE” with HEAVY METAL (insert operatic cry here). Although I am not very familiar with their past efforts, I feel I can safely talk about this album and say that this IS a heavy metal album! It’s all here, melodic yet heavy riffs and solos, operatic vocals and songs about ancient times (“The Moors,” track 12). Overall, this is quite an impressive release and should please lovers of the Iron Maiden, Helloween-era music. Jag Panzer has shown that no matter what stands in their way that they can ultimately put out an album of truly good music that is true to a style that they have enjoyed for years.
