Mick Harris has finally placed Possible on the map as being one of the greatest labels for bass-heavy “dub” sound. Ambush has a serious machinery sound fetish, and I quite like it. When I first popped it into my CD player, I was spellbound; held captive until it ended. For a genre that moves extremely fast in advancements, Rumours is still ahead of the pack and was recorded between ‘96 and ‘97. Where have all the kidz gone? Why aren’t they thumping down the street to Ambush? Oh yeah. They all have their cars in the shop getting their speakers replaced. We can all learn a few things from Ambush, Mick, and Possible. You don’t have to do the “rabbit-on-speed-giddy-giddy-boom-boom” music to hold a listener prisoner in their own home.
But there has to be a catch right? Well, there is, but a lovely label solved the problem for us. Possible Records is European and thus getting anything becomes a hassle.
