God Is A DJ

Arista

The UK’s biggest smash single of this past summer finally hits the shelves here as a CD. “God Is A DJ” has all the potency of an anthem but for the sake of the dancer, club kid, and lover of music, spares us the hype and hoopla. Its spoken vocal and 4/4 beat combine over the melody to deliver a not altogether thoughtless justification of pursuing a life devoid of daylight hours. In a perfect world, one could only agree. Back in the real world, it’s similar to the effect of a sweaty dancefloor hug. We don’t hear enough music of this caliber. Arista Records, 6 West 57th Street, New York, NY 10019-3913
