Brooklyn Bank

CPI/Polygram

Music is a very strange and wonderful thing, and it’s no wonder that Brooklyn Bank is already out in Italy. Invisible Records will be releasing the album in January, so you are going to have to pick this up. It’s a vocal based drum and bass project by JF Coleman (Phylr, ex-Cop Shoot Cop) and Teho Teardo (Matera). There isn’t a single slack track on the entire album. Every song creates its own tension and passion while holding true to a common thread. JF and Teho aren’t to be outdone by anyone, and drag in Lydia Lunch, Scott McCloud (Girls vs Boys), Rock Savage (Barkmarket), and several others to boost this release into the atmosphere. To put it mildly, this is what electronic music is about: being original. If you love drum and bass, this is a must-hear for a different approach to the genre, and if you’re kind of skeptical about drum and bass, well, this album will probably sway you over towards a new style. Keep your eyes peeled on the Invisible Records web page for details on the release date. Brooklyn Bank is going to end up on several Top Ten lists for 1999. Invisible Records, P.O.
