Tragic

Signal to Noise

This is the first release from the Signal To Noise label. In their bio, they explain how the once mighty DC scene has become such an embarrassment to what it was in the early 90’s, and they proclaim to be the label that will revive the scene. If this is the standard of music that they will be putting out, then there is no way they will ever come close to what D.C./Dischord once was. Not to say that this record is really bad, it’s just not anything so good that it can revive a whole scene, especially the DC scene. Most of this record sounds a lot like Shift without the Quicksand influence, and at times like Texas is the Reason. Out of nowhere, song four comes out sounding like Amphetamine Reptile-era Helmet. The seventh song is an instrumental. Not bad, but not groundbreaking.
