Live At McCabes’ Guitar Shop

Epic

Seeing that this review will most likely run in April, it would be a lead-pipe cinch that the general reader would think this is some (not so funny) April Fool’s prank, and move on to the next (real) review. Ah, if only that were true. But alas, it truly is 1/2 of the great rock duo Heart, pounding the ever-lovin’ crap out of a hapless hunk of wood and string and calling it music. Geez, this is horrible. As far as bands went, Heart was fine Camaro makeout music – in 1978. Trying to play Led Zeppelin riffs “unplugged” didn’t work for Plant and Page, and it sure as hell doesn’t work here. True fans of the group will find a few Heart favorites on here (“Even It Up” and “These Dreams”), but I’m betting that such fans don’t read this magazine. At least I’m hoping we scared them all away.
