Gritzner’s song, “Into It,” is downright infectious pop, boyishly wide-eyed but sleepy, that shyly stumbles over its own feet to a melody that’s nothing short of a Wedding Present: in two words, tasteful (tasty?) sap. Gopher’s song, “Will I Ever Find A Smile?,” is jangle-pop of the loud variety – minimal in approach, but with a strong nod to the sacred craft of pop song convention. Now who would’ve thought Norwegians could do pop this well? We ugly Americans should be taking note.
