American Football

American Football

Polyvinyl

American Football was started as a side project for Mike Kinsella while doing Joan of Arc. Now that his brother Tim is the only member of JoA, it could become a full-time band. This is another in the Polyvinyl Records single CD series, and keeps the series’ track record for good releases consistent. Mike sounds a little like his brother Tim, who does the vocals and other things in JoA, but he doesn’t have the high pitch or cracks in his voice. It reminds me of what JoA might sound like if they were more of a band than a “project.” A more straightforward emo/pop/rock thing, and it comes out a lot more accessible than JoA. Four songs total, one is instrumental. Looks like Tim’s not the only talented one in the family.
