For those who haven’t yet heard Resolution , the debut disc from this one woman musical wonder from New Jersey, named Shikee, you really don’t know what your missing. Highly, highly original stuff, the sound is almost indescribable. I don’t want to harp on the gender thing, but here is one woman making music that most bands of five guys can’t hold a candle to. Anyhow, the new disc is called Evolution , it is comprised of a few remixes, a whole slew of new stuff, and a terrific CD-ROM video of the already classic “Refuse.” Here is another artist on Tinman Records, who I feel are making a very fine name for themselves. (I hope you’ve picked up your I Parasite by now). As I said, the music itself is haunting and complex. Shikee and I are setting up an interview, so I’m hoping that next month we can hear more about the songs from the siren herself. Until then, take my word for it and pick up her discs as fast as you possibly can, so you can say you heard her first.
