The X-Rated Bible: An Irreverent Survey of Sex in the Scriptures

by Ben Edward Akerley

1998, Feral House

Loads of fun here. Take this one and run it past your hard-shell Baptist acquaintances. No end of laughs watching them “explain” some of this shit. Take their holy handbook of acceptable behavior and watch them squirm as they are forced to deal with some of the more outlandish behavior described in their very own infallible set of rules. Some of this shit is downright kinky, and it’s not all done in terms of “don’t do this.”

Akerley has done a wonderful job of finding these priceless passages in the holy writ, and then expanded upon that work with thumbnail descriptions of what’s going on (right there next to each passage) for those of us who get headaches when trying to decipher that damned biblespeak these drongos everlastingly insist upon using.

Don’t plan on changing any minds or making any points with this stuff. Just do it for laughs. Takes the starch right out of their underwear.
