Stretch Armstrong

Rituals of Life

Solid State Records

These fellas blend the old and new schools of hardcore not unlike Florida’s own Shai Hulud. We got some fast parts and some big old breakdowns, which brings out a big “Hell Yeah,” because I love it. You want to keep me interested in the song? Change it up, man! And surprise me, which is what Stretch Armstrong does. Screamy vocals are the majority on this record with Converge-esque high-pitched “emo” parts. Mostly personal lyrics, but I really gotta point this out: on “For Now,” the lyrics start out with, “Don’t you know you are my everything. And don’t you know you make my heart sing.” This song actually rocks, but you can’t deny that it is a power ballad.
