Hoboken, New Jersey isn’t known for spawning many alternative country bands, but that didn’t scare Health & Happiness Show. Their Midwestern style country-rock follows along the same lines as Son Volt and Wilco. Standard country subject matter, such as highways, women, self-discovery, and life passing by unnoticed are some of the subjects dealt with on their third album, Sad and Sexy . This is a well-balanced album with no particularly outstanding tracks and no filler. It’s a good listen all the way through. Be on the lookout for these guys to steal the show at Farm Aid in a few years.
