Panda Bear

Panda Bear

Soccer Star

I lived in Baltimore for a few years, and I have a bit of a hard time associating drum machines and keyboards with that city. I remember every band trying to be louder, more completely covered in tattoos, and more fucked up on heroin than the next stupid band. I don’t remember bands trying to be Magnetic Fields in their bedroom, but then again, this guy was probably about 12 when I was living in Baltimore. This Panda Bear guy may just have something here. It needs some refinement, but the naïve, first crush, first heartbreak, first anything-that-hurts-my-newly-adult-heart works well for me. I remember being there, and I remember feeling like no one else could possibly know the same shitty things I was going through.
