Peggen

My Fluffy Period

Primal

I’ve really come to like Sweden’s pop sensibilities. Sure, they gave us Abba and Roxette, but they’ve also yielded Blithe and Peggen, two bands that take your typical radio fodder and skew it slightly in some vaguely discernible fashion. Like those what’s-wrong-with-this-pictures, it’s something that’s wholly familiar and strange, a paradoxical combination. If you were to take Oasis and srip off the platinum pretensions and hose off the drunken vomit, you’d get something like Peggen – unique blends of rockisms and big-budget bombast that are easy to understand and get into. This EP only offers five tracks, but if you do like me and play it three times in a row, you can pretend it’s fifteen.
