The Asteroid Numberfour

Apple Street

AudioInformationPhenomena

I used to think this Austin Powers retro-‘60s-London thing had gone too far, until I heard the Asteroid Numberfour. Apple Street sounds like it was unearthed from a time capsule, capturing mod pop so perfectly, it’s eerie. “Local Fashion Junky” has that sardonic harmonica thing going along with backwards tracking, shakers, hooting organ, shaky reverbed guitar – and no drums. “Poor Man’s Falls” features tasteful flute along with the acoustic guitar. A brief five-song EP that works nicely as a concept album and tells of great things to come from the Asteroid Numberfour.
