The Jesus Lizard

Bang

Touch and Go

The Jesus Lizard has got to be one of the loudest bands I’ve ever heard. With their pounding riffs, clockwork drumming and menacing bass lines, they could play out of Radio Shack CB amps and still sound loud. Bang is the expected collection of 7” and live tracks following a band’s demise, and while these anthologies generally end up being mostly mixed bags, this collection (as expected) comes out to be pretty solid. Jesus Lizard favorites like “Glamorous” and “Mouth Breather” are placed alongside live tracks like “Lady Shoes” and “Seasick,” and there’s two – two – Trio covers, “Anna” and “Sunday You Need Love.” Very seminal.
