Tarot Bolero

Vaudeville Rising

Ace Fu

I don’t know how old this is – the record is copyrighted in 1998 – but it’s different enough to enjoy a fair amount of timelessness. Tarot Bolero have style reminiscent of a demented circus, swinging cabaret and barrelhouse boogie. I’m torn, finding the presentation a bit too smoke and mirrors for my taste but unable to keep myself from enjoying and remembering the songs. A mixed bag, but worth looking into.
