Beatville

For the past year or so, I’ve been raving about the great line-up of discs that Beatville’s been releasing. If there are any skeptics still among you, this new label sampler is a great chance to see what I’ve been raving about. Great ska tracks from the likes of the Robustos, Freetown, the Gangsters, Steady Earnest, Bim Skala Bim, Dave & Ansel Collins, Tommy McCook, and Eastern Standard Time. There’s a few samples of the labels non-ska output, too – and apparently, according to the liner notes, there’ll be rockabilly, swing, surf, blues, and jazz in the label’s near future, along with more ska – but the ska stuff is definitely the label’s strength. Get to know Beatville – I think you’ll be glad you did!
