Slow River

Nebraska native, Josh Rouse has found his niche in the pop/sweet melodies department of the music industry. On his second release, Rouse has crafted an entire album of incredibly catchy, romantic songs accompanied by acoustic guitar, a string section, horns, cheesy synthesizers and drum machines. Songs range from the uplifting, cheery “Directions” so the somber ballad “100m Backstroke.” From the beginning, I tried to dislike this disc, but by the end, I just couldn’t wait to play it again.
