Do Something!

A Holiday Collection Vol. One

Slipstream

Definitely not your average holiday album, unfortunately this reached me too late for the Ink 19 holiday issue. All proceeds of this CD’s sale benefit the Mentoring Resource Center in South Florida. These songs by Florida artists generally fall into two camps: acoustic versions of classics, which generally fair pretty well, and experimental attempts at covering classics or new Christmas songs. The experimental stuff varies wildly between quite interesting and rather amateurish (if well-intentioned) – no, I don’t need to hear some kid attempt an a cappella Spanish version of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and the “mix” version of “Jingle Bells” that opens the CD is downright embarrassing.

So buy it anyway. You know where that “delete” button is!
