Primer 55

Introduction to Mayhem

Island

Primer 55 is a band from one of the boroughs of New York City. Don’t confuse them with the lubricant WD-40, because this band isn’t that original. I have listened to this CD like ten times, and I’m still trying to find something worth commenting about. Let me describe the music… it’s a rap rock band in the vein of Stuck Mojo, Limp Bizkit, hed pe, et al. I have to say I’m a fan of this genre, but when something falls flat, I have to tell people. There’s nothing really wrong with the album, but it’s just so cliché. White guys “who are down with the crew,” but fail to see the big picture, so they are pissed off at the world. “Holding my P-thing with my right hand waiting for the right ho to come on by and suck me to heaven…” I wrote this, which shows how it easy it is to write rap lyrics. Just pepper your lyrics with tons of curse words, sound pissed off, have some heavy guitars in the background… you’re signed.
