Star Ghost Dog

The Great Indoors

Catapult

Early ’90s guitar-oriented, female-fronted indie pop (think Lush, Belly, or especially Velocity Girl) crashes headlong into ’80s keyboard-heavy new wave, with most appealing results. On The Great Indoors , Star Ghost Dog make two diverse – but great – tastes taste great together. Favorite collisions include ““Underdrive,” “Megafauna,” and “Erase Me.” While tracks like “Knock Down” come close to careening into Letters to Cleo/Veruca Salt territory, they retain enough quirky inventiveness and originality to stay out of bland, alt- Melrose Place soundtrack land. I like it, and I wanna hear more!
