Music for Our Mother Ocean II

Various Artists

Surfdog

Having not had the chance to get volume one of M.O.M. when it came out, I made it a point to make sure my CD collection had volume two of this awesome compilation. With artists like Moby, Porno For Pyros, 311, Jewel, Sunchild, and Toad the Wet Sprocket doing songs made especially for this CD, you can’t go wrong. Alongside the artists that did special songs, there are others, like the Offspring, Counting Crows, and Pennywise (who do a great cover of “I Get Around”) whose songs came from previously released albums. However, while the music kicks some serious surfer ass, that’s not the best thing about M.O.M II. The best thing would be that all the proceeds (about $12, depending on where you pick it up) from this CD go right to the Surfrider Foundation. Save the ocean – love your M.O.M.!
