Sarah Dougher

The Walls Ablaze

Mr. Lady

Although she might not be as well known as some of her contemporaries (like Corin Tucker or Kathleen Hannah), Sarah Dougher is emerging as one of the more intriguing singer/songwriters coming out of the Pacific Northwest. Whether on her own or in her collaborations with Corin Tucker (Cadallaca), Dougher always demands to be heard. On her new album, The Walls Ablaze features a dozen songs that ride that line between rock and folk, much like indie music guru Neil Young, whose influence can clearly be heard. The Walls Ablaze is a lovely showcase for an artist working at the top of her game with confidence and maturity.
