Kissers

by James Kochalka

Highwater Books

Like that kid that picks up your guitar and dashes off breathtakingly beautiful melodies when you’ve been struggling to render “Stairway To Heaven” note for note, James Kochalka makes it all look so easy. Kissers is a love story – actually, two love stories, one between us humans and another, forbidden one between a cat and a bird. As usual, Kochalka manages to describe so much subtle detail (in picture and story) using a surprisingly small set of brush and plot lines, and though our story may seem inconclusive, on reflection it really made every point that needed to be made, and then some.
