Voice Brother and Sister
A whole mess of instruments joined together in some joyous musical festival of delight. Almost psychedelic folk rock, with strong ties to the more country-styled sounds of Vic Chesnutt and perhaps Lambchop. Sometimes there’s a lazy drawl going on, melodic desert stretch, that reminds me of Sunset Valley’s Herman Jolly, but the music isn’t as minimal. It moves from rainwater-sad to highway-smiling, but remaining solid and full, with the range of sounds creating a moving backdrop for the drift of the vocals. Laid back pop hooks gone country, and you can sit back and watch the sun set.
