The Agents

401

Radical

401 is the area code for Providence, Rhode Island, where the Agents are from. I still think of the first album as “new,” but I really don’t follow the Agents. However, I can say this is a good album, period. “Long Time” is a nice opener, followed by a really nice and fast version of “Sally Brown.” “Incident at Franco’s” and “98” are other good songs on here. You can definitely tell they are from Providence, as they talk about various things about the city throughout the album. The horns are the real seller with the Agents; I’ve never heard anyone deny that. The toasting can be a bit much at times, and there are some clunkers on here, but overall this is a good album.
