The Huntingtons

Plastic Surgery

Tooth and Nail

The first track of the Huntingtons’ latest album is titled, “I Wanna Be a Ramone,” and the rest of this album certainly backs up that statement. Most of the songs are agonizingly catchy pop-punk ditties about girls and the oh-so-deep subjects of war and cloning. Catchy doesn’t have to be a bad thing, though, and this album has wormed its way into my head. Along with the pop-punk is a song that sounds like an old-time ’50s love song, “Tell Me Goodnight.” I thought the scat singing in the background was really neat. Another especially catchy one is track nine, “Girls Gone Crazy.” There’s really not much more to say, because they’re not doing anything especially new or different. This album should attract more fans for Tooth and Nail Records. I wish the Huntingtons the best of luck as they try to be the Ramones.
