Nettwerk is one of those labels that never fails to surprise me. I never know what music I’m going to find. It was easy back when it was nothing but Skinny Puppy and Moev, but those times are long gone, and now there’s the mystery that is Coldplay. The vocals are reminiscent of a much older Ben Lee… the same kind of accent on the phrase, but deeper. Perhaps somewhere in the same arena as Mark Eitzel or Mark Kozelek (the Red House Painter man), though I’m not sure if this guy’s name is Mark. The music is layered and intricate, though not always mellow. Guitar work that moves from Cocteau Twins-like effect-warble to acoustic dreams, and back to that
